Habib-Ange Soumahoro - French
Hello! My name is Ange and I am originally from the Ivory Coast. I have one brother who lives in Africa with his family, and one sister who lives in France. I am the last one. We grew up in France (Paris).
I am proud of my country because the Ivory Coast is the first producer of cocoa in the world and the third of coffee. We do have 67 different dialects in addition to French which is the main language. I will not forget to talk about our excellent soccer (football) team that represents the country very well.
With the advent of globalization, I think that it is important to share my language (French) as well as my both “European and African culture” with the community here. It is the opportunity to teach people about where you are from and what your values are, and, at the same time learn from them.
I consider LEXNC as a “language exchange” and an exceptional experience of life.
I like cooking, learning foreign languages, soccer and martial arts (Judo and Tae-Kwando).
My home is my soul. The most things I miss about my home are obviously my family, and the excellent FOOD that we have from different parts of the country.
I LOVE this city because people are very nice and open to me. They seem curious about my culture (which is a good thing). I also like the mountains (it reminds me my dad’s village in Ivory Coast).
I have visited UK, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Greece, Switzerland, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Canada, Morocco, Tunisia, Cameroon, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea Conakry, Togo, Benin, Ghana, Senegal, South Africa and USA.
Coming to America (from France-Paris) was a very unique experience in my life (learning a new culture and a new language).
