A Typical Day of International Camp
9:30 am - When you arrive at the” airport“ready for travel with your“luggage” (snack for the day) you willfirst go through security, answering security questions and presenting your documents for travel.
Next you are escorted to the plane where you will discuss the day’s travel destination with the flight crew.
Get ready for take-off and your in-flight entertainment. Once we land we begin our exploration of the sights and activities of our travel destination. Everyday we take a break for Yoga and snack time.
Throughout the summer we will become intensely acquainted with the
cultural icons of our countries. We will recite and act out the legends,
duplicate the artwork, cook the food, dance the dances and wear the
clothing of our wonderful country of study. Crafts are a huge part of
our day so that we can always have artisanal keepsakes of our travels
but every part of our experience is hands-on!
It’s really quite impossible to visit another country and not pick up the
most common words of travel, so
everyday is also peppered with appropriate
vocabulary for our adventure. It is not necessary for a student to
be present everyday, but the ones who can at least attend an entire week
gain much more understanding and respect for the people, country and
cultures we ‘travel” to.
Festival Fridays: all of our knowledge and experience culminate on the Friday of each week when we decorate with our artwork and put all of our knowledge of words and locations together to celebrate a typical festival in our country. This is always food, fun and dress-up day, not to be missed!
